Overview
The Omega Hotel offers a basic standard of 3 star accommodation and is a good place to stay if you wish to visit the famous Museum Quarter. It's also close to the nightlife and entertainment of Leidse Square while the peace and quiet of the Vonddelpark is literally next door - the perfect place to retreat to if city life is getting a bit too much.

The area where the hotel is located is mainly residential and to be honest is fairly quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre - there's a church opposite though with a bell that rings every half hour. It's a typical brown brick Dutch building and it blends in well with the surrounding area. Inside you'll find 32 guest bedrooms, 18 of which have air conditioning, and there's also a combined breakfast room and bar.

There's a small seating area near the reception desk, there's lots of individual pieces of furniture here - kind of like your granny's sitting room. Oh, and there's a TV here as well. You can walk down the steps to the bar & breakfast area and from here you can access the patio area - this is a real bonus in the summer and perfect for dining al fresco.

The reception desk is always manned and you can pick up leaflets here for various excursions, attractions etc. Beside the desk there's a lift, so you won't have to carry those heavy bags up the stairs.

Although quite a few of Amsterdam's attractions are within walking distance, if you've left your walking shoes at home, hopping on a tram is the way to go - the Jacob -Obrechtstraat tram stop is less than a 2 minute walk from the hotel.

All in all we found the accommodation to be quite basic, but it offers a comfy bed for the night and the location isn't bad either!
