The 4 star Swissôtel Amsterdam has a superb location on the busy Damrak right next to Dam Square and close to some of the city's main attractions, shopping and nightlife. This six-storey brown brick building dates back to the 19th Century and offers luxurious accommodation in the very heart of the city. As you enter the hotel you leave the hustle and bustle of the Damrak outside.

Internally this 109 bedroom hotel is one of the plushest in town - very elegant to say the least. In our opinion its contemporary design and neutral tones ooze both class and style. Swissôtel offers a range of business facilities, with four conference rooms, each of which can accommodate up to eight people.

As for dining options, there's Dam Plaza, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also features an outside terrace fronting the busy street - perfect when it's not raining of course! And another thing, Swissôtel uses the same pastry chef as the Royal Palace, so you can enjoy afternoon tea like the Queen!

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and there's always a nice atmosphere in the hotel. Additional facilities to ensure you have a hassle free stay include 24-hour reception, currency exchange, luggage storage and there are two computer terminals in the lobby with free Internet access.
