No visit to Amsterdam would be complete without taking a wander through the Red Light District. Expect a whole variety of adult shops and entertainment mixed in with a few surprising attractions such as the Erotic Museum and the Hash & Marijuana Museum. Best way to describe this area is: colourful but avoid if you are easily offended!

Ironically there is the Oude Kerk ("Old Church") in the middle of this area. It is Amsterdam’s oldest parish church, having been consecrated in 1306. One of the most interesting features of the church is the arched ceiling which is the largest medieval wooden vault in Europe.
