Stedelijk Museum

Located in Museumplein, this modern art museum houses the collected works of Karel Appel, Dutch painter and sculptor who died at the age of 85 in 2006, and of Kazimir Malevich, Ukrainian painter who died in 1935 but left a big impression on the artistic world. The museum also features some of the works of Picasso, Monet and Matisse.

The Stedelijk had been temporarily relocated from its Museumplein venue to Oosterdokskade 3–5 which is located near to the Central Station. This new venue also offers excellent views over the city and during the day serves as a restaurant and at night serves as a nightclub.
